The end of a semester means the arrival of the harvest season, the harvest of our fruit. Throughout this semester’s FIQWS course, I learned a lot on the writing skills. The FIQWS course is designed as a first-year college writing course which exploring rhetoric through reading and assignment and allows us to consider our identity and other people’s identity while writing our unique experiences and interests, as well as responding to countless words. The course helps students write throughout college life and other disciplines by encouraging us to think about our writing and to develop skills and awareness through practice and regular self-reflection and revision essay.
Through the writing of the whole semester, I have proved that I have understood the rhetorical term and met the course learning results. The portfolio includes the four major assignments of the course, literacy narratives, annotated bibliography, researched critical analysis essay, and final self-reflection. At the same time, others include such as poetic analysis, draft papers, discussion board post, peer review, and more that shows I have understood the courses.
