Reflection of Narrative Essay
In the past few weeks, I have written a narrative essay about my experience that demonstrates how my identity affect my relationship with literacy. In the beginning, I have no idea what to write. But with the social identity wheel, I quickly decided on my theme – Language. As an immigrant, I think language is one of my very important identities. At the same time, language is also one of the important reasons that affect my relationship with literacy. Unfamiliar language made me into trouble and caused me didn’t understand read and write. The purpose of writing this essay is to shows all the people my struggle with literacy after coming to New York. I have a hard time learning how to read and write, but with the encouragement of my teachers and family. Finally, I overcome the struggle. As we know, many people immigrate or learning a second language. The difficulties brought by language are indispensable. Learning a language is not easy, but we will overcome difficulties if you have enough confidence and try our best to learn. This essay helps us to explore and analyze the rhetorical situations that come out with our writing with meeting the course learning outcomes. Also, it can develop the strategies for our writing, drafting, and editing. With this assessment, I have learned how to write a narrative essay. Whether it is from the choice of subject, purpose, and sequence, more is the rhetorical situations and the details needed in the essay. Although it’s hard to decide the theme and start writing the essay at the beginning, as long as you according to the structure of an essay or paragraph, it will be easy to understand and write.
